Meet the Instructor

Leslie Nalls

Horses have always been a big part of my life. After years of riding lessons as a child and growing up in Pony Club, I took a break from horses to attend Virginia Tech College of Engineering and earn a B.S. in Civil Engineering. After working in the engineering field for 4 years, I decided my heart was truly in agriculture. I married and raised 3 wonderful boys on our farm in VA raising beef cattle and farming small grain crops. My lovely daughter was born a year before our family moved to Montana in 2003. Since moving to Montana, I have been able to rekindle my passion for horses. I own and run a boarding facility on our ranch, teach riding lessons to kids and adults, and have been the District Commissioner of the Five Valleys Pony Club for the last 10+ years. I enjoy riding English and Western and exploring new horse sports.

When I am not teaching or working on the ranch, I enjoy exploring the Bitterroot Valley on horseback and spending time with my 4 wonderful children.

I have always been a horse owner and rider who is invested in the care and well-being of my horses. As a strong believer in the principles of Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance, I consider myself a student of the horse before all else.
